We’ve never lost the urge to get piercings . From our teenage years to the present day, we’ve always felt like getting one—they have that certain something that’s hard to explain, but they’re really cool.
Sorry Mom, but wearing a piercing is the coolest thing right now
And the piercings can become a form of self-expression for some people. Just like tattoos, they’re completely commonplace nowadays. And they don’t just look good on the ears—other areas can look amazing too, which is why we want to tell you about the ones that are trending and what they’re called.
SEPTUM
This piercing is placed beneath the cartilage (without passing through it), in the part separating the nostrils. A super-discreet option that leaves no mark if we ever get tired of it. Who have we seen wearing one? Celebrities such as Blanca Suárez, Rihanna and Anna Castillo.
NOSTRIL
It’s the “common” nose piercing. It can be worn on either side, depending on personal preference. It can be somewhat painful to get because it’s done through cartilage, and it needs to be looked after very carefully. It’s one of our favourites!
DAITH
It’s a piercing in the lower cartilage of the ear that has become very popular in recent years.
TRAGUS
It’s one of the piercings most commonly seen on the ear. It’s located in the small, oval-shaped cartilage that prevents direct contact between the outside and the ear canal. Since it’s cartilage, it tends to be one of the more painful ones, but the look it gives you is totally worth it. You can choose to wear a small hoop, a charm or a classic ball.
labret
This is the lip piercing that was popular in the 2000s, one of the piercings seen most often. It’s located in the centre of the lower lip. Some people prefer to get it done on one side or the other of the lip instead of in the centre. Which one do you prefer?
INDUSTRIAL
It consists of two piercings connected by a bar across the upper cartilage of the ear. It can be somewhat painful to get, but it’s nothing we can’t overcome.
HELIX
This is one of the most popular areas: the outer cartilage of the ear. You can wear anything from a ball to a small hoop, which we think looks best. We’ve seen it on influencer Mónica Anoz, who not only wears one piercing but has 12 piercings from the lobe all the way to the top. We love it!
CLASSIC EARRINGS
Piercings in the lobe or upper lobe are the ideal option for getting started in the world of earrings. It is the fleshy part of the ear before reaching the cartilage, and you can get it done both at specialised studios and at some pharmacies.
