Martina Matencio
Photographer, 1988
Her name is Martina Matencio, and she is @lalovenenoso when she is behind the lens. What do we like most about her? Beyond her strength, warmth and naturalness, it is her very special ability to show something as photographed as the female body from a different perspective. All she needs is a camera to create true works of art. Her work focuses on femininity with great feeling, delicacy and strength.

BL: Who is Martina Matencio?
M: Martina Matencio is a 31-year-old photographer. I am a somewhat negative person, although I increasingly try to find the positive things in life. I am very sensitive and quite creative.
BL: What do you like most about yourself?
M: What I like most about myself is my perseverance. When I set my mind to something, I am very consistent, and that is why I think I have got to where I am. I devote a lot of time to the things I like
BL: And what do you like least?
M: What I like least about myself is that I think I cry a lot. I don't spend my life crying, but I find it very hard to hold back tears. And that's okay, because I think crying is very important and we need to cry. Crying when it comes out is natural, but sometimes it frustrates me because I'm in places where, f***, I don't want to cry here.
BL: What does courage mean to you?
M: I was going to say it's being strong, but no. Courage is jumping into an empty pool. Kind of. Sometimes I think we have to do that in life. You jump, and that's it—and it might go wrong. My father always used to tell me, “don't try it, do it!” and to me, that's courage.
BL: Is there a woman you admire?
M: I admire all the women around me, including people I don't know. I learn from so many women every day, and I'm not going to choose just one, but all of them.

BL: What's your favorite song?
M: I like a lot of songs, but I don't know why today I'm going to say “Moon” by Kid Francescoli.
BL: What's your favorite Black Limba piece?
M: I really like every Black Limba piece I've tried on or own. I love working out in these pieces because I feel comfortable, I feel beautiful, and they fit perfectly. I think the underwear is really beautiful. And I have one bikini, and honestly, I like it—it looks good on me. I might choose the latest bikini as my favorite because it's green.
